Within the framework of its code of corporate and social responsibility, Lila Group has taken action due to the increasing effects of the COVID-19 in Turkey. The company has donated 100 thousand rolls (5 million meters in length: 2.5 million units in total) of medical examination couch roll worth up to 2.5 million Turkish Liras to be used in public hospitals and ambulances under governance of the Ministry of Health of Republic of Turkey.

Chairman of Lila Group, Orhan Öğücü has underlined that this is a public responsibility, saying: “The fight against the COVID-19 continues in Turkey, as it does in the rest of the world. Each of us has a part and responsibility in this fight, whether under an individual or a corporate responsibility. In our case, as a hygienic tissue paper products producer group, this responsibility is even bigger. We keep on working with utmost care, having “health first” as our motto; and we raise our efforts in accordance with increasing hygiene related necessities of our people. To this end, we have reached out to our Ministry of Health and declared our desire, as Lila Group, to donate medical examination couch roll that we are producing. We are donating 100 thousand rolls of medical examination couch roll to our public hospitals and ambulances in under the directions of General Directorate of Public Hospitals.”

“In the past, medical examination couch roll was used mostly in private hospitals and clinics and was generally at the end of the list for out-of-home consumption having a very small share of the tonnage in Turkish market. This being so, we had not been focused on this product in our production lines or in R&D activities. However, like other disposable material aimed at preventing contagion, this product has become very valuable for the health industry. With our R&D activities and reorganization of our production line in the last 10 days, we can now produce it efficiently and in bulk. We have come together with all our employees to support our brave health workers. We will overcome this struggle in unity and solidarity,” Öğücü added.
