Nordic Quick Systems has developed a sprocket with rotatable and replaceable wear parts, achieving major successes in the Nordic market. Now, the company is set to make an entrance in the UK. The patented system makes for faster, safer and cheaper maintenance operations in heavy industry.

Sprockets are used in practically all major industries and are often very cumbersome and risky to handle – during both installation and maintenance. This is something that Nordic Quick Systems is in the process of changing, with its patented system of exchangeable and rotatable wear parts. With this unique system, the customer does not have to take the chain, shaft or sprocket body off the conveyor to perform a maintenance operation. In addition, because the wear parts can be rotated, their lifespan is doubled.

“Since we launched the sprocket in 2015, we’ve had the pleasure of delivering it to industrial users operating under really tough conditions, such as sawmills, heat generation plants and paper mills around the Nordic region. Our customers are delighted with the quality of the sprockets and their positive impact on maintenance work,” says Sammy Pergament, Head of Sales and Marketing at Nordic Quick Systems.

Because maintenance can be carried out while both chain and sprocket body are still in place, the process is up to five times quicker. This translates into lower maintenance costs and higher production efficiency.

“On average, our customers save 10½ hours per maintenance shutdown for a chain conveyor with four sprockets and two chains. In addition, the wear parts weigh just a few kilos each, which means that lifting devices are not required to perform maintenance. In turn, this means improved safety for employees,” Sammy Pergament continues.

As of January 2020, Nordic Quick Systems’ patented sprockets will be available in the UK. The company is engaged not only in direct sales to end-users, but also sales via resellers and licensing.

“We’re looking forward with excitement to being able to improve the maintenance process in UK,” Pergament concludes.
