And the learning doesn’t stop there. Kicking off the week is TAPPI’s co-located Tissue 101: Properties and Processes Course, Monday and Tuesday, September 30 – October 1. This course has been heralded as the perfect industry introduction and/or refresher and is structured to provide participants with a solid understanding of tissue properties and how they are impacted by the manufacturing process. There is a separate registration fee to attend the course, but all course attendees are eligible to receive 50% off their TissueCon registration. In addition, this year’s Conference attendees can take advantage of a Project Controls Workshop, Managing Capital and O&M Projects,  on Wednesday, October 2, as part of the overall learning opportunities offered.

TissueCon 2019 is set to also address such critical areas of the industry as fiber availability and sustainability, Yankee Dryer operations, tissue chemistry, lubrication and other operations and maintenance issues, data and the evolution of artificial intelligence in tissue manufacturing, and concludes on Friday with a comprehensive panel discussion on the aspects of creating softness. Debuting this year is the New Technology Showcase, where up to 20 companies will share non-traditional product innovations and solutions that have applicability in the tissue manufacturing process.

Additional insights will be offered by these speakers:

  • Cheng Lim, Georgia-Pacific
  • Esko Uutela, Fastmarkets RISI
  • Rondalds Gonzalez, North Carolina State University
