Mantrose-Haeuser Co., Inc. Seeks Research Scientist

Mantrose-Haeuser Co., Inc invites you to join their team as a Research Scientist at their R&D facility in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintain a complete understanding of company food contact packaging coating line and their technical attributes.  
  • Manage research and development programs, using "hands-on" technical expertise to create new coating products, and improve production processes. 
  • Coordinate ingredient sourcing, testing of new ingredients, functional evaluations and approval process with Purchasing and Quality Departments. 
  • Assist in creating sales formulas and client literature. 
  • Stay abreast of food packaging coating trends and developments in new technologies. 
  • Build a reputation for customer-focused creativity by delivering new ideas and coating solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (i.e., Polymer coatings, Chemistry, Engineering). Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Polymer Science is preferred.  
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the food packaging or coating industry. 
  • Experience in paper coating/printing industry is a big plus. 
  • Candidates should possess in-depth knowledge on coating formulation/testing/application.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive R&D projects.  
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), problem solving, critical thinking, organization, planning and management skills. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
