The parent company, headquartered in Hong Kong, provided the following information about the current status of restarting production at the Maine, USA mill in a press release this week:

"What’s that in the sky in Old Town, Maine?

Your eyes don’t deceive you – that steam emission from the Old Town mill is proof we’re well on our way to adding a fourth production facility to the ND Paper family!

Our team this week successfully fired our #5 package boiler. While this is one task of many yet to come, it marks a very important milestone in the journey to restarting the facility. Why? The #5 boiler is the first piece of major operating equipment to run in the mill since its idling in October 2015. Further, the mill will now be self-supplied with heat; up to this point, we’ve relied on portable heat units.

This is a new beginning for Old Town, and we’re just getting started!"
