UPM Raflatac (Finland) announced this week it is broadening its already extensive range of dedicated tire-labeling solutions with the introduction of Syntyre Plus, a polypropylene (PP) film that has been specially designed to withstand the tough challenges of tire labeling applications.

A special barrier layer on the backside of the film combines with the RHT tire adhesive to ensure that labels stay looking good with no edge lift or staining, with safety-critical information and key branding elements remaining in place and readable until the label is no longer needed.

"At UPM Raflatac we work hard to understand the needs of our customers and brand owners so we can develop dedicated solutions to help them solve their labeling challenges," says Martti Vähälä, Business Development and Segment Manager, UPM Raflatac, Tyre & Wet Wipes, Specials. "Syntyre Plus solves the common problems seen when standard PP labels are used in tire labeling, such as curling and swelling caused by chemicals in the tire surface or label adhesive leaching through to the label surface."
