Kemira (Helsinki, Finland) a global chemicals company serving customers in water intensive industries, announced on Oct. 2, 2018 an innovation challenge looking for new business models and earning logics for new offerings focusing on sustainable alternatives to packaging plastics.

With the growing take-out culture and ready-made meals, the demand for high-quality food packaging board that both protects and promotes brands, is also increasing. Kemira addresses this global trend by launching the "Food for Thought" innovation challenge. The goal is to find new business models and earning logics for new biobased and biodegrable alternatives for food packaging.

The "Food for Thought" innovation challenge is powered by IndustryHack, which offers an open innovation platform and community. The application period for the Kemira contest was opened on October 2nd and closes on November 1st, 2018. Kemira will host an Innovation Camp in Helsinki on December 10-11, 2018.
