The International Biomass Torrefaction Council (IBTC) and TAPPI’s International Bioenergy and Bioproducts Conference (IBBC) have announced a new partnership to help promote awareness of torrefied biomass.

IBTC is a Brussels based international platform founded in 2012, which brings together more than 23 companies from all over the world. It was founded by Bioenergy Europe (formerly AEBIOM) and resulted from the joint efforts of major torrefied biomass stakeholders who decided to create a discussion platform of companies with similar interests. IBTC was also initiated in collaboration with the Dutch Torrefaction Association (DTA).

IBBC, October 28-31, 2018 in Portland, Oregon, USA, brings together leaders in bioproducts and bioenergy to share valuable content and technologies that help advance biorefineries. As a technical event, IBBC provides the latest findings, best practices, and processes available to encourage the use of bioenergy and bioproducts in the production of forest goods in the market. It offers sessions on the following topics:
The goal of the partnership is to further international awareness of torrefied biomass and how it can be used in a variety of sustainable capacities. Both the council and conference find the advancement of biorefineries as crucial in broadening the sustainability capabilities of the forest products industry.

Early bird registration for IBBC ends on October 3, 2018. To learn more about IBBC, please visit tappi-ibbc.org or contact Lisa Stephens at 770-209-7313 and lstephens@tappi.org. To learn more about IBTC, contact Michael Wild at +43 676 611 76 22 and michael@wild.or.at.
