Committee Meetings Connect Members with the Industry

TAPPI’s technical divisions target specific segments in the pulp and paper industry and each division has corresponding technical committees that work to share knowledge and provide solutions for the industry. These solutions include new products, services and opportunities such as publications, events and online discussions.

TAPPI members can join any technical committee and enjoy many great benefits such as sharing of knowledge and ideas, connecting with other industry experts, getting advice, finding new solutions and helping launch new initiatives that support the division. They also have the opportunity to attend one or more of the committee meetings held at PEERS 2018 this October and experience first-hand the benefits of being part of a committee.

TAPPI’s Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling and Sustainability (PEERS) Conference will be held on October 28-31 in Portland, Oregon and committee meetings will be held throughout the four day event.

Committee and subcommittee meetings open to all attendees at PEERS include: Energy, Recovery, and Recaust; Energy; Lime Kilns & Recaust; Recovery & Power Boiler; Water Treatment; Corrosion & Materials Engineering; Environmental & Sustainability Working Group; Plan Engineering & Project Management; Biorefinery; and Fiber Recycling. View the committee meeting schedule.

PEERS was developed by working professionals associated with the pulp and paper industry and offers eight topic-specific tracks focused on today’s most pressing mill issues. In addition to its comprehensive technical program, PEERS 2018 offers hands-on workshops, Hot Topics Breakfasts, a New Technology Showcase, Continuing Education Units (CEUs), multiple networking events, and exhibits. PEERS is also co-located with TAPPI’s International Bioenergy & Bioproducts Conference (IBBC) and PEERS attendees have full access to the IBBC technical program, including the popular crossover topic, Nonwoods.
