Bob DeKoch will retire as independent non-executive director of the Board of Directors of Sappi (Johannesburg, South Africa) with immediate effect due to health reasons the company announced earlier this month (Aug. 2018). DeKoch was appointed to the Board in March 2013 and also served as a member of the Social, Ethics, Transformation, and Sustainability Committee.

The Board appointed Zola Malinga as independent non- executive director with effect from Oct. 1, 2018. Malinga will also serve as a member of the Sappi Audit and Risk Committee with effect from October 1. Malinga, a chartered accountant, has over 10 years' experience in investment banking and corporate finance. She is the founder and executive director of Jade Capital Partners, a women-owned investment company which invests in the property and industrial sectors.

Malinga currently serves as a non-executive director on the Boards of Hospitality Property Fund, Sasol Inzalo, Grindrod Bank and Grindrod Limited.
