U.S. Packaging Paper Shipments Up

According to the American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA) headquartered in Washington, D.C., USA, total U.S. packaging papers shipments in July 2018 were up 5.7% compared to July 2017 and up 1.3% year-to-date. Bag and sack shipments increased 2.5% compared to July 2017. During the same forecast period, multi-wall paper shipments were down 0.9% while converting shipments were flat. Food wrapping shipments were up 3.1% during this forecast period.

The month-to-month operating rate increased from 95.8% to 95.9% (June-July 2018).
