According to a July 31, 2018 report by Brand Packaging (Troy, Mich., USA) Biossance, a skin and beauty products company, looked specifically to a type of paperboard to find a packaging material with unique sustainability appeal as well as structural and graphic package designs for kitting services, transportation, warehousing services, and more for its skincare line. The brand turned to Veritiv to create new packaging designs that stand out, minimize dimensional weight, and give consumers a great out-of-the-box experience.

The brand promise of Biossance is "purity in skincare". The main ingredient used in the product line is squalane, which is extracted from sugar cane. Veritiv's Earth Pact paperboard is also made from sugar cane, and supported the brand perfectly.

Earth Pact is made with 100% sugar cane bagasse fibers, an annually renewable, tree-free fiber source that's also recyclable and compostable.

Biossance's creative new packaging won the Audience Choice Award at Cosmoprof North America Beauty Trade Show in 2018 and was a finalist for the Beauty Innovation and Design for Sustainable Packaging Innovation Award.

Veritiv designers worked closely with Biossance at one of the supplier's packaging design centers, creating solutions such as a quicker speed to market for the brand.
