Global coding and marking solutions provider Linx Printing Technologies has appointed Jose Gomez managing director following the retirement of Nigel Hood.

Gomez joins the St Ives, Cambridgeshire, U.K.-based company after 17 years with fellow Danaher business Videojet, where he held a variety of leadership roles, most recently as VP and GM of Videojet Latin America.

A graduate of Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Toulouse University in France, Gomez has bachelor's degrees in finance and economics, and has completed an advanced executive program at IESE University in Spain.

"I am thrilled to join a great team at Linx and partner with them to continue delivering innovative coding and marking solutions to our customers," Gomez said. "At Linx we play a critical role in helping our customers improve their productivity and I am very excited about the breakthrough IoT solution 'Printernet' we will be launching soon."

Joakim Weidemanis, Danaher's EVP, production identification and water quality platforms, noted that "with Jose's extensive experience at Videojet, and his track record of building and developing highly effective teams, I am very confident that he will continue the strong leadership that drives Linx's success. I congratulate Nigel on his retirement. I thank him for his long service and accomplishments throughout his career, in particular his contribution at Linx where he has led the team through outstanding growth in 2016 and 2017."
