Innovative Modeling and Advanced Process Control Discussed at PaperCon 2018

Mill managers are always looking at ways to increase paper quality while at the same time be more efficient in their papermaking processes. To stay competitive in today’s marketplace, it is vital they stay abreast of the latest innovations and technologies available as well as any new methods and applications that can streamline their systems.

PaperCon 2018 features a "Papermaking Innovations" track that focuses on key issues, strategies, and cutting-edge technologies to help mills be more profitable.

The Papermaking Innovations track will concentrate on innovations in the papermaking process. Sessions will be held on worldwide trends and development packaging machine design, energy systems, advanced process control concepts, application success stories, clothing measurement and management, auxiliary systems, and new concepts for standard problem areas. The track will also include three roundtable sessions where attendees can discuss key papermaking topics with their peers.

More than 24 expert-led presentations will be delivered within the Papermaking Innovations track, including:

  • Gapforming Trends for Packaging Grades - Moritz Strepp, Voith Papers.
 
PaperCon, the world’s largest technical conference for the paper and packaging industry, will take place on April 15-18, 2018, in Charlotte, N.C., USA. Paper and packaging professionals from more than 23 different countries will gather to share and discuss new technologies, best practices, and key issues affecting the industry. 

PaperCon’s comprehensive technical program will include nine tracks:  Papermaking Innovations, Papermaking Additives, Fluid Fundamentals, Coating & Graphic Arts, PIMA management, RPTA (paperboard recycling), NETInc (nonwovens), Reliability & Maintenance (TAPPI/IDCON), and Control Systems. Conference Highlights include:
PaperCon 2018 will be co-located with four other high-powered events including NETInc (Innovative Nonwovens Conference), Recycled Paperboard Technical Association Production-Technical Seminar (RPTA P-T), Control Systems 2018, and TAPPI/IDCON Reliability & Maintenance. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend sessions from each event based on registration. PaperCon 2018 will also be held in conjunction with two additional events, including the Women’s Summit and the 15th Advanced Coating Symposium.
