Sealed Air Corp., Charlotte, N.C., USA, has been ranked fifth among publicly traded companies in the U.S. for sustainability practices by Newsweek Green Rankings, in addition to being named Best in Industry U.S. for containers and packaging.

"We are proud of our commitments to help solve the world’s greatest resource challenges," said Ron Cotterman, Sealed Air VP, Sustainability. "Our goal is to demonstrate through our operations, solutions, and ambitions that we can deliver sustainable value to benefit both businesses and society at large. We continue to improve the efficiency of our global operations by driving out waste and have made significant changes to how we introduce new solutions to the market by incorporating sustainability principles at the earliest stages."

The 2017 U.S. Newsweek Green Rankings assess the overall environmental performance of the 500 largest publicly-traded companies based on revenue headquartered in the U.S. Conducted in partnership with Corporate Knights, methodology is based on eight environmental metrics in a rules-based way that meets the test of being replicable by a third party.

In November 2017, Sealed Air was recognized by CDP as an industry leader and awarded an "A-" rating for its climate change work to reduce environmental impacts.

Sealed Air Corporation is focused on packaging solutions that help customers achieve sustainability goals in the face of today’s biggest social and environmental challenges.
