French Paper Hikes Prices

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

French Paper, Niles, Mich., USA, this past week announced its first price increase since March 3, 2014, more than three and a half years. This increase, due to recent cost changes and market conditions, consists of $5/cwt for Glo-Tone and $4/cwt across all other grades, with equivalent changes made among envelope items. All changes will apply to orders placed after Dec. 15, 2017.

Along with these pricing changes the company has begun the discontinuation of its Mod-Tone grade and will sell remaining items as inventory is available.

French Paper Co. has been manufacturing paper for more than 140 years in the same location in Michigan. Remaining as one of the last, small, independent mills in America, French Paper notes that it has learned to take direction from customers, not corporate consultants. The company says that it keeps its eye on the bottom line by improving product lines, and when it talks about stock, it mean papers, not shareholder value.
