Sappi Announces Indefinite Order Moratorium

Effective immediately, Sappi (Johannesburg, South Africa) announced this week a temporary order moratorium with no definite timing on product availability in the future as of yet, on these products: Opus Web, Somerset Web, Flo Web, Flo Sheets and Sheeter Rolls, as well as LusterCote C1S.
Any unconfirmed orders in the company's system and any inquiries will be held for review through today (October 19) when Sappi reports the company aims to determine which orders and inquiries the company can confirm.
In light of recent industry developments, this is a reportedly a short-term measure designed to secure Sappi’s production capacity for the protection of existing customers.
