U.S. Bleached Pulp Exports Decline

Total 2017 U.S. BSK pulp exports through July were down 2.8%, while U.S. BSK pulp exports to China fell 10.4% during the same period. U.S. bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp exports were down 2.8% y/y through the first seven months of 2017. U.S. BSK pulp exports to China in the first seven months of the year were off 10.4% y/y.
 
The following table show U.S. BSK and BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp exports for July 2017 and for the first seven months of the year. The following graph shows U.S. monthly BSK exports to China and total BSK exports from 2008 through July 2014.
