In Memoriam: Dr. Michael Gerstenberger

Dr. Michael Gerstenberger, a well known personality and key player in the global converting industry, and a TAPPI member since 2009, died on March 25, 2017, at the age of 64. Michael was heavily involved with European PLACE.

 

Following more than two decades working in management positions in the chemical industry, Michael played a major role in the establishment of the ICE Europe trade fair 15 years ago and was involved in establishing the event as the worldwide leading trade show for paper, film, and foil converting. 

As technical editor, he was one of the founders of C2 Magazines. Michael also was the face of the Munich Adhesives and Finishing Forum (MKVS) for which he took over responsibility in 2006, together with his business partner Stephan Hinterwaldner.

Michael was owner of Lion Consult and was an active industry consultant for most if not all of his professional career, serving the European and North American converting industries.
