Valmet Makes Changes in Executive Team

Valmet, Finland, has made the following appointments, effective Oct. 1, 2017. Jukka Tiitinen is appointed area president, Asia Pacific. Tiitinen currently holds the position of business line president, Services at Valmet. Aki Niemi is appointed business line president, Services Business Line. He is currently working as the area president, China at Valmet. Both have a long background in different management positions at Valmet, and they will continue reporting to President and CEO Pasi Laine as executive team members. 

Hannu T. Pietilä, currently area president, Asia Pacific, returns from his six year assignment period back to Finland and is appointed VP sales, Asia Pacific, reporting to Jukka Tiitinen. 

"I am happy that we were able to create this rotation within our executive team, utilizing the strong experience and competences of the members for the benefit of their new organizations, while giving them opportunities for renewal and growth. Jukka Tiitinen is known for his results orientation and has made an excellent contribution to growing our services business steadily. Aki Niemi has been instrumental to building our China business, reaching good results, and created a committed and capable organization close to our customers. With these characteristics, and track records, they both are excellent fits for their new positions. At this point, I also want to thank Hannu T. Pietilä who has created strong customer relationships and developed our business in the AP area since 2012. In his new role, Hannu will continue supporting our Asia Pacific business to serve our customers in the best possible way," said Pasi Laine, president and CEO, Valmet.  

The recruitment of Aki Niemi's successor as area president, China has started.
