KapStone Reaching Higher in Meeting 2020 Sustainability Goals

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp., Northbrook, Ill., USA, this week announced the recent release of its fifth annual sustainability report, which shows ongoing progress towards meeting the company’s 2020 sustainability goals. Conforming to the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) G4 rigid and voluntary standards, the report details accomplishments along with areas for improvement necessary to meet those goals.

KapStone CEO and President Matt Kaplan said that "operating in a sustainable manner is core to doing business the right way. As we look ahead to meeting our 2020 goals, we are inspired by the great work of our employees and know, by reaching higher, we will position ourselves to achieve our goals."

The 2016 Sustainability Report details six areas of 2020 sustainability goals, Kapstone’s progress toward meeting those goals, and a management plan for further progress. Throughout the digital report, stories are shared to demonstrate the company’s commitment to the three principles: Think Big and Act Small, Take Care of Our Partners, and Do Business the Right Way.

KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp. is the fifth largest producer of containerboard and corrugated packaging products and is the largest kraft paper producer in the U.S. The company has four paper mills, one lumber mill, 24 converting plants, and 65 distribution centers. It has approximately 6,400 employees.
