U.S. BSK Pulp Exports Decline

U.S. BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp May 2017 exports (includes fluff) were down 12% y/y and down 3% ytd. However, available supplies are now rising after major mill shuts through the first half, according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census.

The following table lists U.S. BSK and BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp exports for May 2017 and through the first five months of 2017, to key world areas. The following graph shows U.S. monthly BSK pulp exports from 2008 through May 2017.
