Segezha Group, CAMC Sign Partnership Agreement

During a recent visit of China President Xi Jinping to Russia, Russia-based Segezha Group (operating as part of Sistema PJSFC) and China CAMC Engineering Corp. (CAMCE) signed a partnership agreement at the session of the Friendship, Peace, and Development Committee of the Russian - Chinese Business Council. The strategic partnership aims to jointly implement projects in advanced processing of wood raw materials and increasing pulp and paper production capacities in the Russian Federation.

To implement the projects provided for by the agreement, Segezha Group and CAMCE have agreed to develop and sign a detailed road map.  until Sept. 30, 2017.

Segezha Group is a major Russian vertically-integrated timber processing holding with a complete cycle of timber procurement and advanced wood processing operations. The holding includes timber, wood processing, and pulp and paper facilities located both in Russia and abroad. The company's representative offices and assets are located in 12 countries of the world. The company's production assets are located in eight countries of the world and six Russian regions. Employing some 13,000 people, the company sells products in 88 countries of the world. Segezha Group is the biggest forest user in the European part of Russia, the total area of leased certificated forest reserves reaches 6.8 million ha, 96% of them certified.

CAMCE, operating as part of China National Machinery Industry Corp. (SINOMACH), has broad experience in implementing international projects under general contractor agreements. CAMCE specializes in domestic and international investment activities and trading in wood and paper-based products. CAMCE has launched a pulp-and-paper mill construction project with a capacity of more than 400,000 metric tons in the Republic of Belarus, and a pulp and paper mill project with the same capacity in the north of Finland, based on the most advanced and ecologically responsible technologies.
