Japan’s BSK, BHK Pulp Imports Soar for First Five Months of 2017

Japan’s 2017 BKP (bleached kraft pulp) imports soared y/y through the first five months of 2017. Data by the Japan Ministry of Finance show 258,000 metric tons of BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp imports (+40%), and 407,000 metric tons of BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp imports (+9%) through May 2017.

The following table shows Japan’s BSK and BHK pulp imports in May 2017 versus May 2016 and for the first five months of 2017, from key areas of the world.
