China’s BSK/BHK Pulp Imports Rise in May

China’s BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp imports were up 11% y/y in May 2017, which was +34% through the first five months of 2017. China’s BSK (bleached softwood kraft) imports were up 9% year-to-date, with -5% from Canada.

The following table shows China’s BSK and BHK pulp imports for May 2017 and for the first five months of 2017, from key areas of the world. The graph that follows shows China’s monthly imports of paper grade pulp from 2007 through May 2017.
