Meet and network with other EHS Professionals at Nano 2017's Health, Safety, and Environmental Considerations for Bio/Nano Technologies Workshop on Monday, June 5, 2017, at 1:00 – 4:00 pm. This workshop is co-located with TAPPI's International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials, June 5-8 in Montreal, Que., Canada, which features 140 technical presentations, three keynote speakers, and more than 40 poster presentations

Health, Safety, and Environmental Considerations for Bio/Nano Technologies Workshop will focus on the occupational, environmental, and consumer health and safety requirements for new technologies, with a special focus on bio-based nanomaterials. Interactive presentations will explore these issues from the perspectives of data development, risk assessment and management strategies, and regulatory requirements. This workshop is held separately from Nano 2017 and separate registration is required. Cost to attend: $160

Nano 2017 technical sessions also include presentations focusing on the use of cellulose nanomaterials in biomedical applications, composites, electronics, paper, and packaging. Characterization and functionalization of cellulose nanomaterials are covered in additional sessions. Sessions also address industrial production and safety and environmental issues.

Nano 2017 will also feature an End Users Panel Discussion (Tuesday, June 6). Hear from representatives of Cabot Corp., Ford Motor Co., L’Oreal, and Schlumberger in this first-of-its-kind panel. This year’s conference co-chairs wanted to ensure the program included an opportunity to hear from potential end users. These global companies will comment on their interest in the cellulose nanomaterials and potential applications.
