Nippon Paper Industries Increasing Patent Coated Board Prices

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Japan, this week announced price revisions for patent-coated board. Products subject to price revisions include one-side coated duplex board, specialty board, and both sides patent-coated board.

The minimum markup for these products will be 10%, effective with May 21, 2017, shipments.

The company explained that patent-coated boards have been facing a difficult earnings condition because of rising prices of a number of raw materials and fuels since the second half of last year.

As with linerboard and corrugating medium in news item above, Nippon said that it has been promoting thorough cost reductions, but the current price level is lower than the revenue level where reproducible profit can be secured through independent efforts alone. Therefore, the company decided the revision of the product prices.
