U.S. Pulp Exports Plunge to 15-Month Low

U.S. BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp exports plunged to a 15-month low in February 2017, but still were strong to China.

The following table, based on data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census, lists 2016 versus 2017 BSK and BHK pulp exports to key areas of the world during February and for the first two months of the year. The graph below charts monthly U.S. BSK exports from 2008 through February 2017. Exports of BSK to China during this period are charted separately on the graph.
