Valmet, Finland, will supply an automation system for INOVYN's chlorine plant in Stenungsund, Sweden, which plans to convert its chlorine plant from mercury to membrane technology. Being equipped with Valmet's automation technology will ensure that the plant has high process availability and operational efficiency.

The value of the order was not disclosed. Delivery is scheduled for July 2017.

"Our choice was Valmet again, as we have had good experience with the company's reliable and user-friendly automation system since 1981 and our operators are familiar with it," said Kenneth Bengtsson, automation engineer, INOVYN Sverige AB.

"We have been cooperating with INOVYN regularly for decades and carried out many projects together. Additionally, Valmet has a 24/7 service agreement with the plant," said Roger Holmedahl, service manager, Valmet Automation.

Valmet's delivery includes a Valmet DNA automation system and a HIMA safety system, as well as engineering, factory acceptance testing, and commissioning.

INOVYN is a vinyls producer that ranks among the top three worldwide. With an annual turnover in excess of EUR3.5 billion, the company has more than 4,300 employees and manufacturing, sales, and marketing operations in 10 countries across Europe. Its portfolio consists of an extensive range of products arranged across general purpose vinyls, specialty vinyls, organic chlorine derivatives, and chlor alkali. Annual production volumes are in excess of 40 million metric tons.
