Innovative ideas lead to innovative solutions. In an effort to drive even greater innovation at Pratt Industries Inc., Conyers, Ga., USA, a corporate sponsored studio has been set up at Auburn University, Auburn, Ala., USA. Here, Pratt works with industrial design students from outside of the industry to provide a fresh look and inspire even greater packaging innovation.

The program provides students with real world design experience, the opportunity to create new ideas in a real world scenario, and an environment where they are challenged to problem solve through innovative design approaches.

This past semester, Pratt partnered with Auburn University students and tasked them to solve a product packaging problem across several different product categories. They were encouraged to develop and present their new innovative packaging solutions. Through collaboration and feedback from the Pratt Industries team, students then created a final version of their product.

A video available online shows, first hand, the creative solutions that resulted from the last semester’s Pratt Industries id Program at Auburn University.
