Novozymes Industry Technical Service & Application Manager – Forest Products – Europe & Asia Pacific, based in Bagsvaerd, Denmark

To expand our forest products team at our HQ in Bagsvaerd, Denmark, we wish to recruit an Industry Technical Service & Application Manager. In this interesting position, you and your team will catalyze the growth of innovative enzymatic solutions throughout the pulp, paper and board industries of Europe and Asia Pacific by providing key technical support for the activities and ambitions of current and future customers and partners.

You will play a key role in developing application insights by identifying and resolving customer/partner issues; staying abreast of technical development and contributing to the creation of novel solutions, concepts and intellectual property while contributing actively to continuous tool and service development.

Another important part of your role will be to support the value of our technical solutions for our customers. This entails supporting the current product portfolio with partner/customer visits, focused training sessions, workshops and active consultation. You understand and help to address customer concerns; support Account Managers by providing clear and accurate feedback to customers and identify and qualify prospects and sales opportunities including new applications.

You will coordinate the maintenance and activities of the technical service laboratory and ensure alignment with our customer interests/needs as well as manage external/internal testing in collaboration with dedicated TS staff. Development and implementation of new methods and procedures using state-of-the-art knowledge will be your responsibility as part of designing and conducting application-relevant experiments.

Last but not least, you will be a strong communicator facilitating and enhancing internal and external communication and representing Novozymes towards customers and other stakeholders on technical and/or project issues, including assisting in the drafting & review of technical material (e.g. product application sheets) and tapping into the global TS community in order to take advantage of the global organization as a platform for better practice sharing.

You will be challenged to work with many different global customers and partners, each requiring a unique approach. You will be granted the trust and responsibility of identifying opportunities and acting on them to support our overall ambition of changing the world with bio-innovative solutions.
 
Requirements:
  • A graduate degree in Pulp and Paper, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Sciences, or related fields
  • +5 years of practical experience within the pulp and paper industry or relevant sector
  • Awareness of enzymatic applications within the paper & pulp industries (practical experience is considered ideal)
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
  • An outgoing and self-driven personality
  • To be willing to travel internationally – approx. 40% of your time
  • To be fluent in spoken and written English.
