Van Genechten Packaging International (VGPI), Luxembourg, has elected Arnauld Demoulin as its new CEO, effective June 6. With years of international experience in personal care and FMCG, and an energetic drive, VGP is all set for further growth.

Demoulin succeeds Inge Plochaet, who as board member, took up the role of CEO ad interim in September 2016. Before his new role, he has spent 15 years at Ontex, an international producer of personal hygiene solutions. Since 2006, Demoulin has led three different divisions of the Group between 2006-2009, 2010-2013, and 2013-today. In his last assignment, he was responsible for the largest division and in charge of 2,800 people in seven factories, leading sales, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance. Before Ontex, Arnauld took on various commercial roles within the FMCG industry.

We very consciously looked for someone with a mindset focused on people, results, and growth. Equally important for Van Genechten Packaging was international experience in production and FMCG - both in mature and high-growth markets.

Alongside his strong team player attitude, Arnauld will also bring extra drive and energy. It perfectly matches the momentum already initiated by Inge.

"We are confident that Arnauld's leadership and contagious enthusiasm will bring back growth again. Van Genechten Packaging with its 10 innovative and well-invested Pan European plants is ready for the challenge," said Frederic de Somer, managing director of VGPI.

"I'm really delighted and excited to join one of the largest independent European folding carton packaging companies. Together with the teams, we will reinforce our position to deliver custom folding carton packaging that makes our customers' brands stand out," Demoulin noted.

VGPI is an independent industrial group consisting of 10 folding carton factories in seven countries, leading the European consumer goods industry with printed folding cartons, microflute, and other packaging solutions. The group converts more than 200,000 metric tpy of carton board each year and employs 1,600 people.
