Catalyst Paper, Richmond, B.C., Canada, has launched a complete line of new lightweight flexible food packaging papers, branded LEAP, from its FDA-compliant Biron mill in Wisconsin, USA.

The LEAP family brands are uncoated and coated one side flexible packaging papers designed for food applications such as flat or pinch bottom bags, sugar packets, poly and adhesive laminated products, and ice cream treats.

"We’re tremendously excited to introduce the LEAP family to the market," said Brian Boland, VP, specialty papers and new product development, "and are confident that LEAP, backed by our industry-leading sales and customer solutions support team, will provide outstanding solutions for our customers’ food application needs, and reinforce Catalyst’s commitment to specialty markets."

Available in 15-50 lb. basis weights, LEAP brands are FDA compliant, have excellent print fidelity, and abundant strength for converting processes, and are sustainably produced with available chain-of-custody certification under Forest Stewardship Council, Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, and Sustainable Forestry Initiative standards. Catalyst is a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.
