Tembec Elects New Directors

Tembec Inc., Montreal, Que., Canada, this week announced that all of the nominees proposed as directors in the management information circular dated Dec. 16, 2016, have been duly elected as directors of the corporation by a majority of the votes cast by the shareholders present in person or represented by proxy at its Annual and Special Meeting of Shareholders  held on Jan. 26, 2017, in Montreal. 

Based on the number of proxies received, the total number of shares voted at the meeting was 73,976,852, representing 73.98% of the corporation's outstanding shares. Voting results are shown in the table below. 
 
 

Tembec is a producer of forest products—lumber, pulp, paper, and specialty cellulose –and a global leader in sustainable forest management practices. Principal operations are in Canada and France. Tembec has approximately 3,000 employees and annual sales of approximately $1.5 billion.
