Greg Storat has been appointed president of the Paper Shipping Sack Manufacturers Association (PSSMA), Coopersburg, Pa., USA, by the PSSMA board of directors.  Previously, he served as VP, operations manager, and director of statistics for PSSMA beginning in 2011.

Prior to joining PSSMA, Storat served in high-level data analyst, contract management and technical positions in information technology. He earned distinction supporting the U.S. Department of Energy, Homeland Security, and the National Nuclear Security Agencies in Washington, D.C. Storat also received recognition for outstanding service while providing lead technical support, including for the transition of the Office of the Secretary of Energy during several presidential administrations.

Dick Storat, PSSMA’s outgoing president, will continue serving the association as secretary and treasurer.  He commented that "Greg has been preparing to head up the PSSMA for several years now, and is well-known by our members and associate members as a staunch advocate for the industry. He will lead the association going forward with new initiatives and ongoing valued services, including the continuation of PSSMA’s extensive statistical services, legal forum, and supporting members in achieving industry-wide technical, marketing, and educational objectives."

Storat received a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Susquehanna University in 1992.

PSSMA is the national trade association of U.S. producers of multiwall shipping sacks. Its mission is to provide its member companies with programs and services that further the industry’s objectives and, in doing so, promote and enhance the welfare of the industry. Currently, PSSMA’s sack-producing members produce approximately 90% of the multiwall shipping sacks made in the U.S. In addition, PSSMA is supported by more than 50 domestic and international associate members, suppliers of goods and services to the U.S. multiwall industry.
