TAPPI Connect: Keeping Committees Organized

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

TAPPI Connect is bringing committees together to complete tasks while keeping their work in a single, organized place.

Frank Sutman of Solenis is a big proponent of this growing platform.

"I am really excited about it. I see its possibilities and benefits and it’s a nice tool that we are just starting to use to plan the (PaperCon) Fun Run next April. It’s certainly easy to use. One significant benefit is record keeping. Trying to find a dated e-mail containing specific information may be difficult or impossible if a company’s record retention policy has kicked in. Instead, all of these records are in one place and accessible to all for future planning."

Sarah Garchinsky, also with Solenis agrees. "I think that it says a lot about TAPPI, providing a space like this to connect."

Paula Hajakian of US Gypsum Co. and technical manager of TAPPI’s Paper and Board Division has been actively using the platform.

"TAPPI Connect has proven to be very useful for communicating within our committees. TAPPI Connect is a great way to communicate to the committee members without sending out e-mail blasts to everyone on a committee. The folks who need to see the information have access, and I do not need to store everyone's e-mail address in my computer. Reviewing and updating TAPPI Technical Information Papers is made much easier by having TAPPI Connect as a communication point for the updates. I get e-mail alerts as to what new information has been posted, allowing me to review the new information as time allows. I have also used TAPPI Connect as a repository for subcommittee documents. Creating new folders and updating files is quick, intuitive and easy."
