Precision Paper Converters, Kaukauna, Wis., USA, this past week announced a $5.8 million expansion of its facility and installation of a state-of-the-art facial tissue interfolder and cartoner. The Bretting interfolder, named "VARiUM," is the first of its kind in North America and the patent pending technology allows for variable cutoff lengths and folded panel widths.
  • In-line calendering
  • Use of 1-ply or 2-ply rolls
  • Automated starter sheets
  • Quick changeovers
  • Multiple web width capabilities.
The Langen Group cartoner also has several features that support PPC’s core competencies of flexibility and reliability in facial tissue contract converting.

The new equipment is also designed to improve ergonomics and safety levels for operators, both important factors to Precision Paper Converters. The machine installation is complete and startup began in late October. We expect to be running at full speed in Q1 of 2017.
