TAPPI Connect: Making Communication More Efficient, Effective

Though they are just underway, TAPPI’s Young Professionals (YP) Division is using TAPPI’s newest communication platform, TAPPI Connect, to keep members informed on many different levels through discussion boards on all things related to the industry.

 

"I think it’s a great way to keep everyone involved within the division even if they don’t have a position or role within the division" stated Josh Reich of Greif and an active YP Member. "I’d like to see more people signed up and have their profiles updated – pulling from LinkedIn profiles," he continued.   

TAPPI Connect is also keeping members organized without cluttering up their personal or business email inbox. Paula Hajakian, technical manager, Paper and Board with US Gypsum Co., and a TAPPI YP Member, commented that "TAPPI Connect has proven to be very useful for communicating within our committees. It’s a great way to communicate to the committee members without sending out e-mail blasts to everyone on a committee. The folks who need to see the information have access, and I do not need to store everyone's e-mail address in my computer. Reviewing and updating TAPPI Technical Information Papers is made much easier by having TAPPI Connect as a communication point for the updates. I get e-mail alerts as to what new information has been posted, allowing me to review the new information as time allows. I have also used TAPPI Connect as a repository for subcommittee documents. Creating new folders and updating files is quick, intuitive, and easy."
