Cascades, Kingsey Falls, Que., Canada, this week announced  that, effective Jan. 1, 2017, the name of the new business unit within Cascades Specialty Products Group resulting from the merger of Cascades Recovery and the fiber sector of Corporate Buying Group (GAC) will be Cascades Recovery+. In December 2015, Cascades announced the purchase of all Cascades Recovery shares, making it the sole owner of the company that was founded by the Metauro brothers under the name Metro Waste and that has been a partner in Cascades’ success for more than 20 years.

This past July 11 marked the start of phase one of the integration project between Cascades’ GAC team and Cascades Recovery.  Joining forces will allow Cascades to not only optimize and secure its raw materials supply, but also solidify its leadership position in the market and more strategically position itself to serve its internal partners and customers, with an ongoing view to achieving sustainable development.

"I am privileged to be able to count on a strong and talented management team to help build the basis and lead Cascades Recovery+. This move is about harmonizing operations to ensure that our employees can develop and become strong contributors as members of our new team," explained Al Metauro, EVP of Cascades Recovery +.   "We will also benefit from the knowledge and expertise of Pascal Aguettaz, VP, corporate services, who possesses many years of experience in the market and will play the role of special advisor."

Accompanied by his team, Al Metauro has undertaken to meet with the plant managers at all of Cascades’ mills by the end of 2016 to explain the benefits of this new partnership.

It is a "+" for all parties involved... Cascades, its employees, its customers, its market; the added value of Cascades Recovery+ is beneficial on many levels.  It is the scope of this value that inspired the name choice for this new business unit.   Added value that is a major +!, Cascades emphasizes.

Founded in 1964, Cascades produces, converts, and markets packaging and tissue products composed mainly of recycled fiber. The company has 11,000 employees who work in some 90 production units in North America and Europe.
