Grigeo Klaipdos Kartonas Completes First of Three-Stage PM 3 Modernization

AB Grigeo Klaipedos Kartonas, a subsidiary company of AB Grigeo Grigiškės, Lithuania, in cooperation with Voith GmbH (Germany), reports that it has completed the first stage of a three-stage modernization of its PM 3 paperboard machine. Modernization of PM 3 will enable the company to double its production capacity in three to five years.

The project included a rebuild/full renovation of the paper formation section, modernization of drivers, upgrade of the process piping, modernization of the dryer section, and installation of a new-generation automation and control system for the entire production line.

This first stage of modernization allows the company to increase the range and quality parameters of its products while boosting the operating speed and production volumes of PM 3 by as much as 30%. It also improves the work environment and microclimate for employees. The project cost EUR 17 million.

AB Grigeo Klaipedos Kartonas was founded in 1898. The company makes testliner and fluting raw materials for the production of corrugated board.
