Agenda 2020 Technology Alliance held its All-Members Meeting in conjunction with the NC State Pulp & Paper Foundation meeting in Raleigh, N.C., USA, on Sept. 8, 2016.  Executive Director David Turpin presented an overview of the Alliance and its progress in implementing its five technology road maps. The leaders of the five teams then presented their ongoing and planned research projects and ways that faculty, students, and companies could engage in the process.

"As we evolve from preparing road maps to embarking on road trips, this outreach to our university partners and students becomes critically important," said Turpin.  "We thank the Foundation and the Forest Biomaterials Department for the opportunity to present these initiatives, and look forward to the proposals and research concepts that will come from here."

The Agenda 2020 session followed presentations of the Forest Biomaterials Department’s capabilities, activities, and engagement strategies.  A student poster session provided the backdrop for a reception, giving students the chance to discuss their work with industry executives.

The five technology road maps address Next-Generation Pulping, Black Liquor Concentration, Reuse of Process Effluents, Delivering a Drier Sheet to the Dryer Section, and Cellulose Nanomaterials.
