Kyiv to Replace Yankee on Tissue Machine in Ukraine

As part of its tissue machine modernization project, Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill, Ukraine, will replace the existing yankee dryer cylinder at its mill in Obukhov near Kiev with a new one, manufactured by Valmet, Finland. According to the company, the new equipment was shipped from Karlstad, Sweden, on Aug. 31, 2016, a month before the scheduled date. 

Expected delivery time of the new yankee dryer, with internal bearings and snap, is the middle of October 2016. Entering the cylinder is scheduled for the end of October 2016.

Installation of a new yankee cylinder will increase productivity and significantly improve the quality of the mill’s tissue paper.

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill is part of the Austrian Pulp Mill Holding. The mill’s paper production operation produces sanitary papers, including  toilet paper, napkins, and paper towels, with a total capacity 70,000 metric tpy. The ill has some 2,200 employees.
