In the Spotlight: Ingrid Rodriguez - "Her Trusted Resource"

 

When Smurfit Kappa hired Ingrid Rodriguez as a human resources trainee for the Americas, she had a lot to learn about her new role in the pulp, paper, and packaging industry. A recent college graduate, her previous experience had been in the automotive industry. 

 

 

She discovered an exceptional resource one day when investigating potential training programs for employees. That resource was TAPPI. She was soon intrigued by what it could not only provide for employees in general, but also for herself as an HR professional in a new field.

"I have been in the industry for more than a year and a half," Ingrid said. "TAPPI represents a comprehensive process where you can learn from many different areas: from papermaking, sustainability, and supply to sales, design, and finance. The more I know about the industry, the more I enjoy my job."
