KapStone to Raise Containerboard Prices, WestRock Rumored to Follow

Kapstone (Northbrook, Ill., USA) has increased containerboard prices by $50 per ton, following news late this past month that International Paper (IP), Memphis, Tenn., increased prices effective October 1.

WestRock (Richmond, Va.) is also rumored in a report this past week by Street Insider (Birmingham, Mich.) to be considering following the new pricing standard set by IP, and now KapStone, to the point WestRock, one of North America's largest paper/containerboard producers, may also increase prices to competitively match these other major U.S. producers without sacrificing an opportunity for higher company profits and source material efficiency
