U.S. BHK/BSK Pulp Imports Increase

U.S. BHK (bleached hardwood kraft) pulp imports were up 11.6% y/y through May 2016. Almost three-quarters of the U.S. BHK pulp imports were from Brazil. U.S. BSK (bleached softwood kraft) pulp imports were up 4.3%, with 98% coming from Canada, according to data released by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census. 
 
The following table shows U.S. BHK and BSK pulp imports for May and for the first five months of 2016.
