According to a report this past week by Packaging Business Review (London, U.K), packaging materials supplier Kite Packaging (Coventry, U.K.) has acquired Northamptonshire, U.K., based packaging distributor, Phoenix Box.

Established in 1993, Phoenix Box, the report noted, is engaged in the JIT and direct line supply of corrugated cases and other packaging consumables across the U.K. Kite managing partner Paul Mustard will monitor the operations of the newly acquired EUR 2.5 million packaging distributor with its U.K. sites in Harlow and Sittingbourne.

"Phoenix Box fits very well with Kite's branch focus on major customers requiring service-and-solutions," said Kite Chairman Bruce McInnes.

With access to Kite's NDC's comprehensive range of standard packaging, Phoenix Box will now be able to be a sole-supplier of packaging to many of its large customers.

"In addition, Kites technical support teams - stretch film and in-the-box solutions - will be available to Phoenix Box to support future sales growth," the chairman also noted.

In September 2015, Kite acquired Golden Valley Pallet Wrap Specialists for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition covered goodwill and certain assets of Golden Valley. Kite supplies packaging materials ranging from corrugated cardboard boxes and packing tape to large rolls of bubble wrap and hand pallet wrap.
