Saica Pack is the corrugated packaging division of the Saica Group, Spain.

According to a report on Tuesday (June 21) by PackagingNews, Croydon, U.K., designed for long-term business growth, the company's plan will see investment of more than EUR 250 million in production machinery at 34 European locations, including EUR 60 million investments in the U.K. and Ireland.

The investment will deliver machine upgrades, palletization improvements, more automation, additional kit, advanced quality control devices, and new high speed die cut machinery. It will also deliver new graphic and digital printing abilities.

The investment aims to support Saica Pack customers by means of increased quality, reliability, and lower lead-times. The division now operates 14 sites across the U.K. and Ireland, with more than 1,600 employees. With an annual capacity of almost 2.5 million metric tons of paper, the Spanish company has almost 9,000 employees across 47 production facilities throughout Europe.

Miguel Angel Martínez Garbaye, Saica Pack’s commercial and marketing director, told Packaging News: "Our investment will increase efficiency and speed to market, helping us to increase flexibility and launch new products."
