TAPPI Industry Career Center: Andritz Automation Seeks P&P Sales Manager

Andritz Automation currently seeks a sales manager to develop opportunities to create value for pulp and paper customers and grow the business for our Automation Solutions division in the southeastern US. Reporting to the VP, Global Sales, in this role you will work closely with our product managers, proposal managers, and other technical team members to maximize the company’s sales objectives. While leveraging your technical experience and expertise in the pulp and paper industry, this will be achieved by enhancing relationships with existing customers while identifying new leads and nurturing them into trusted, long-term relationships.

Principal Duties:
  • Responsibilities may include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Identifying opportunities for greenfield and brownfield projects (process control systems, advanced process control, process simulation, specialized instrumentation, and electrical engineering services)
  • Effectively presenting the value of our product solutions to customers
  • Initiating, building, and developing customer relationships
  • Defining, developing, and executing winning sales strategies
  • Tracking progress and maintaining effective communication throughout the sales cycle
  • Collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve company objectives.
When selecting candidates, we will be looking for:
  • Relevant bachelor’s or associates degree; preferably in engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ pulp and paper industry experience
  • Some experience with process controls and electrical requirements of mills
  • Proven presentation, relationship building, and sales skills
  • Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team
  • Enthusiastic, driven for success – the right attitude is key
  • Able to work as part of a multi-location team
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and technical writing skills
  • Travel (up to 40%) to domestic and international locations will be required; driver’s license and valid passport mandatory
  • Priority consideration will be provided for candidates who have proven pulp and paper engineering sales experience in the southeastern U.S. region.
