TAPPI Career Center: Crews Chemicals Seeks Regional Account Manager

 

Crews Chemicals Inc. is looking to grow its team in the Southwest USA area (La., and Tex.). There are two established accounts in the area that need to be managed, with a potential third. It is looking to perform daily cleaning as well as outage cleaning for our customers. 

 

This full time position is available for a motivated, self-driven individual acting as an account manager for paper machine cleaning in Southwest Louisiana/Southeast Texas. This person would report to the GM. This person would be responsible for handling chemicals (degreasers, caustics, and acids), working in a hot environment for long hours during outages, building and managing a crew of 4-6 people, and ensuring the customer’s needs are met and a safe, clean environment is maintained. Lodging and food while traveling will be covered.

 

This position would be based in the Southwest Louisiana/Southeast Texas area, and would require travel to various pulp and paper mills.

 

Other requirements:

• Must travel to Southeastern U.S. periodically throughout the year, as requested by corporate office. This travel is likely for 1-2 weeks per trip.
• Must be able to travel to Michigan or Wisconsin as needed to assist in our other accounts. Should be sporadic travel to these locations, travel for annual outages (1-2 times per year) would be required.
• Note: travel could fall on the weekend in some situations. If personal vehicle is used, mileage will be reimbursed at IRS rate.
• Willing to fly commercially.
• Willing to work hard, get hands dirty, very hands-on.
• Open and willing to take direction and instruction to learn our business and how we operate.
• Must follow specific safety protocols in regard to Personal Protective Equipment, mill site safety, chemical handling safety, etc.
• Mechanically inclined – able to repair pumps, hoses, and other equipment.
• Able to lift up to 100 lb.
• Self Starter/self motivated – Sees a problem and fixes it.
• Positive attitude, results/solution driven.
• Honest, hard worker.
• Willing to go above and beyond.
• Able to have conversations with customers to determine schedules, needs, opportunities, concerns, etc.
• Very professional and organized.
• Paper mill experience is a plus, but not required.
• Drug free – note that drug test will occur upon hiring, and could occur randomly during employment. 

Additional Salary Information: Benefits: Health insurance premium covered at 100% - 5% Commission on service accounts that are managed - 7.5% Commission on "chemical only" accounts that are earned and managed - Company vehicle and credit card for company expenses - 2 weeks vacation (flexible around outages and work requirements).

 

Crews Chemicals Inc. is a family owned business located in Rome, Ga., USA. We manufacture industrial cleaning chemicals, specifically for the pulp and paper Industry, as well as provide the service to clean the paper machines and paper machine room (fourdriniers, presses, dryers, coaters, hoods, floors, basements, etc.).
