Metso Appoints Puroranta Chief Digital Officer

Jani Puroranta has been appointed chief digital officer (CDO) of Metso (Helsinki, Finland). Earlier this week, the company announced his appointment with an official starting date at the position set for August 1. The CDO will be responsible for driving the company's digital transformation and overseeing the implementation of Metso's digital strategy in close co-operation with all business areas. The CDO position reports to the president and CEO.

Puroranta has a long track record in leading and developing digital business, having worked in various business development and leadership roles, most recently as director of product strategy and R&D at Bilot Consulting.

Our objective is to help our customers improve their operational efficiency, reduce risks, and increase profitability. Together with business areas and functions, Metso's CDO will have a key role in the development of Metso's processes and capabilities so that we can provide the best customer experience and value-generating solutions with the help of digitalization," said Matti Kahkonen, president and CEO of Metso.
